Follow the road to freedom in New York and discover the extraordinary history of the men and women who fled slavery!
On this guided tour, you will discover the little-known history of slavery in New York, and find out about the "Underground Railroad", a clandestine escape tunnel in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
You will learn more about the long road that the slaves travelled to earn their freedom, which included many rebellions, and dramatic escape attempts. You will also discover authentic stories of courage of New Yorkers who risked their lives to help slaves break free.
With your guide, you will explore the historic places which were part of the Underground Railroad, as well as an archaeological site. You will also see a memorial dedicated to the Africans who died because of slavery.
