Meet the animals of the savannah on a 3-day safari to the Maasai Mara Reserve from Nairobi!

Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara

You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi at around 8 am and drive to the Maasai Mara. On the way, you will pass through the Great Rift Valley where you will enjoy panoramic views of the semi-active volcano of Mt. Longonot. You will arrive at the camp at lunchtime. You will enjoy free time until sunset. At 4.30 pm, you will leave for your first safari. As night falls, the chances of spotting lions increase! You will return to camp in the evening to enjoy a buffet dinner.

Day 2: Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara is one of the most visited sites in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the reserve is considered the jewel of Kenya's wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration alone involves more than 1.5 million animals that arrive in July and depart in November. 

After breakfast, you will leave early in the morning to start your day's safari. Accompanied by a ranger-guide, you will go in search of Africa's Big Five (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo). You will also see antelopes, hyenas, zebras, and maybe even hippos and crocodiles! At lunchtime, you can enjoy a picnic in the shade while taking in the view of the nature reserve. At the end of the day, you will return to the camp. Buffet dinner included.

Many options can be offered at extra cost if you wish (an early morning hot air balloon ride, and/or a guided tour of the Maasai village at the end of the day). Please ask your guide if you would like to opt for any of these additional activities (payable locally only).

Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nairobi

You will enjoy breakfast before making the return journey to Nairobi, where you will be escorted back to your hotel.

  • Availability: every day except under exceptional circumstances
  • Start time and departure point: 8 am, at your hotel in Nairobi. Pick-up is available at most hotels in central Nairobi and the Westlands area (a supplement will be charged if you are staying outside these areas). The exact time will be confirmed after booking
  • You will be accommodated at Miti Mongi Camp or similar
  • At the time of booking, you will be asked to select the type of vehicle you require (standard safari vehicle OR 4x4 Jeep)
