Explore Marrakech's Medina with a tour themed around Moroccan street food!
After meeting up with your local guide, you'll begin your small group tour of Marrakech's Medina and enjoy winding your way through its alleys. You'll be able to sample olives, walnuts, oriental pastries, traditional breads and other Moroccan specialities.
You'll continue to the meat market (poultry and beef) and see how the local shoppers haggle when stocking up on supplies. You also visit the must-see spice market, spices being essential ingredients in traditional Moroccan cuisine. Cumin, saffron, ginger... you'll learn how these spices are used in various local dishes, such as tagines. You'll be enchanted by the fragrances and bright colours of this souk. Your guide will also tell you about the nomadic communities and how they preserved meat in times of shortage and war.
You'll end your tour with a traditional Moroccan dinner in the middle of Jamaâ El-Fna Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is at its liveliest when night falls, and you can enjoy your meal in this typical atmosphere, to the heady sounds of the local snake charmers.
