Learn all about ancient Balinese culture as you discover East Bali!
Start the trip off in Semarapura, the ancient royal capitol of the island. Next, visit Kerta Gosa, an historic building that used to be used for judging criminals. Look up and see paintings that describe the trials and the sentences that the court imposed.
Following the visit to Kerta Gosa, head for a swim on the Kusamba beach. Visitors will also learn about local life in Bali, and observe different traditional methods that farmers use in salt production.
Continue on to Taman Ujung, known as the Palace of Water when the country was a German colony. Built in 1919, visitors can visit the walls built on huge pools of water, as well as gardens decorated with grandiose statues.
After a break for lunch, the tour will continue to Tenganan, one of the oldest villages in Bali. This is the only place in Indonesia where the famous Geringsing (the most luxurious fabric in Bali) is still produced. The village is also known for continuing the ritual where combatants fight with thorny leaves.
At the end of a day spent discovering East Bali, you will be driven back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
